AICTE-ISTE National Refresher Programme Phase-2 organized by Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

The first session of the day was engaged by Mr. A H Sagar. He is a Political, Moral, Educational philosopher, International educationalist, Researcher and a National sports person. He holds a Master’s degree in Education and Educational philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. The main focus of his talk was on Demythologizing the mythicized pre-conceived notions to create a healthy as well as organic cooperative and collaborative learning environment.
Second session was engaged by Dr. Flosy Dsouza, Associate Professor, St. Ann's PG Studies & Research in Education, Mangaluru. She holds PhD degree in Education from Karnataka University. Her talk mainly focused on Active learning Strategies. During her presentation, she stressed on the Paradigm shift in teaching and learning process, Learning objectivities, activities and Assessment, Blooms Taxonomy and Revised Taxonomy, common methods/Strategies in learning process.
Third session was engaged by Dr. Lewlyn LR. Rodrigues. He holds a PhD degree in System Dynamics. Prof. Rodrigues spoke on Teacher as a leader in collaborative learning. During the presentation, he deliberated the effect of modern tools and called on teachers to contribute in training the next generation leaders.

Day Five (10th Apr’2021):
The First session was engaged by Dr. Rupal Thakkar, Assistant Professor, K J Somaiya College of Education, Mumbai on “Engaging students through cooperative learning and collaborative learning”. She highlighted the significance of prescriptive and experiential curriculum, uses of cooperative learning, phases of cooperative learning, individual and group accountability and class activities.
The second session was engaged by Dr. Mandeep Kaur Kochar, Vice-Principal, University Affairs HSNC, University of Mumbai. She spoke on “Innovative strategies for enhancing emotional intelligence”.
The Third session was engaged by Dr. A J Neetha, Principal, Bapuji College of Education, Davanagere on “Reasoning ability”. She emphasized on the significance of cooperative learning, improvement in output with cooperative learning, Principles of collaboration, Best practices, activities and benefits of collaborative learning, comparing quantity and quality of student responses.
The fourth Session was engaged by Prof. Ankith S Kumar. He is a Behavioral Scientist, Psycho-social counselor, Life coach, and Personality Development Trainer. He holds a Master’s Degree in Medical and Psychiatry Social Work. Presently, he works as a Student Counselor at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. His topic of discussion was on “Mindfulness”. In his talk, he highlighted the importance of mindfulness, the advantages of practicing meditation and the role of senses in stress management.
