Orientation Programme for Second Year Students of CSE

Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering had organized an Orientation Programme for the Second Year Students on 19th Apr’2021. Dr. Pushpalatha K, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering welcomed the students for the Academic semester and urged them to actively participate in all upcoming departmental activities.
First Session was facilitated by Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor who delivered a motivational talk on “Mindfulness”. He spoke about mind relaxation and fitness (mental and physical). He made students experience meditation and also explained the importance of it. He also created awareness about COVID pandemic. He stressed on how one could keep the mind balanced during examination. His tips to survive depression, anxiety, fear, inferiority complex and personal life issues helped the students a lot.
First half of the second session was a group activity “Ad –Mad Show”, a fun activity to engage students. They even won prizes for their performance as a team.
Second half of the session was engaged by Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA on “Resume Writing”. She emphasized on the importance of designing the Resume, right from their second year of engineering which will give them scope to build their profile and add value to their Engineering course. She shared anecdotes on how an accurately designed Resume can win an interview schedule in big companies, what the HRs look at while sourcing candidates and gave tips on Do’s and Don’ts in writing a Resume. She emphasized on updating Project information, Technical Skills and Training undergone in addition to their curriculum.
A total of 65 students attended the programme which was coordinated by Prof. Janardhan Swamy in the presence of all faculty members of the department.
