VP-People Operations, Niveus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. conducts "POSH Awareness Session" for MBAs

Ms. Shipra Rai, Vice President-People Operations, Niveus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Facilitated a session on "POSH Awareness" for the first year MBAs. At first, she shared a Case on Sexual Harassment and asked students for their opinions on the action to be taken in such a scenario. She was delighted to hear the MBAs professionally address the case and also shared her views on how that case should be approached. She even outlined the difference between workplace harassment and workplace sexual harassment and mentioned that these two harassments are handled differently. She spoke on the rise of POSH Act of 2013 in India referring to the landmark judgment of Vishaka Dutta Vs. State of Rajasthan Case related to Bhanwari Devi.
In her concluding remarks, Shipra re-iterated that Sexual Harassment cases are filed not on the intent of the person at the giving end but the perception of the person at the receiving end hence every individual should be aware of POSH and such awareness programmes will help to eliminate instances of ignorance on this matter. She also clarified the acts of Sexual Harassments by quoting scenarios and also explained the process of placing complaint at organization/institution level.
