Dept. of CSE organized a Session on “Problem Solving and Ideation on Mobile Networks: GSM AND CDMA”

On Jan 8th’2022, Saturday, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering in association with Institute Innovation Council, Ministry of Human Resource Development Initiative, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and Institute of Engineers (IEI) organized a session on “Problem Solving and Ideation on Mobile Networks: GSM AND CDMA” for Faculty and Students through Google Meet Platform. The resource person was Prof. Sheba Jebakani, Academician, Atria Institute of Technology Bengaluru.
During the session, the Resource Person gave an Overview on elements of a wireless network and Components of Cellular Network Architecture. She briefed about the Structure of Global system for Mobile communications (GSM) and Techniques for sharing Mobile to BS-radio Spectrum. She emphasized on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), 2.5G (voice + data) Network Architecture, 3G, Mobile Management Principles, Mobility, Mobile IP and Routing to a node. She also elaborated on steps to perform handoffs.
With the support of Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, President - Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council and Director-R&D; Dr. Anush Bekal, Vice President-Sahyadri Institution Innovation Council and Head of Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Dr. Pushpalatha K , Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering; Prof. G B Janardhan Swamy, Convenor, Institution Innovation Council, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering; Prof. Sharathchandra N R, Coordinator, Institution Innovation Council, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, the session ended up successfully. Prof. Suhas A Bhyratae, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering coordinated and added closing remarks to the event.
