73rd Anniversary of Republic Day Celebrated at Sahyadri

The 73rd Anniversary of the Republic Day was celebrated in the campus by hoisting the national flag by the Chief Guest – Dr. Niranjan Rai, Ayurveda Physician, Dhanvantari Clinic, Uppinangadi. Post this, Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal introduced the Student Council Members to the Chief Guest.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Niranjan Rai, on this National festival, reminded all of the freedom from slavery of the British as well as the duties and rights as a citizen. He mentioned that we focus majorly on our rights and not on our duties - preserve culture, language, national ethos, respect to human being and so on. He said Patriotism is a sensitive emotion which is different to different people and re-iterated the words of the great Abdul Kalamji - 3 Pillars that contribute to the nation building – Mother, Father and Teacher. He said while Teachers help to build the IQ, Mother and Father contribute in nurturing EQ which is more important to understand the needs of the poor. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Niranjan appreciated Sahyadri for shaping the youth of the nation. Post his speech; students recited Bankim Chandra’s, “Vande Mataram”, The National Song.
The Trustees – Mr. Devadas Hegde, Mr. Jagannath Chowta, Mr. Vikhyath Rai and Mr. Vijeth Rai along with Dr. Rajesha S, Principal; Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal, Deans and HODs of various departments, the Company Heads, faculty and students were a part of the occasion.
