Sahyadri awarded with 4 Golden stars by Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India

Sahyadri, a hub for many innovative start-ups and industries, has been awarded four stars rating for the academic year 2020-21 released by the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India.
The MoE has established the ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The recognition is based on the initiative undertaken by the institution as prescribed by the MoE to promote innovation and start-up related activities in campus. This is the third time Sahyadri has bagged 4-star ratings (2019, 2020 and 2021) for its vibrant innovative ecosystem and now has been a top performer in the district, state and in the entire country.
Major Objectives of IIC:
• To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by MoE’s Innovation Cell in time bound fashion
• Identify and reward innovations and share success stories
• Organize periodic workshops/seminars/interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators
• Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations
• Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students
• Organize Hackathons, idea competition and mini-challenges with the involvement of industries.
