MBA Students attend an Interactive Session with the Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly

A total of 30 MBA students along with Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean Strategic Planning attended an Interactive Session with Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly Sri Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri on 'Election Reforms' organized by Mangalore District Administration in association with Mangalore City Corporation, Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangalore University & SDM Law College at Town Hall Mangaluru.
Sri Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri gave an introductory speech on the changes taken place in the electoral process from the time of independence in one of the largest democracies of the world. He requested the voters run a campaign stating "My Votes are Not for Sale". Later students from various colleges were invited for the discussion. The various topics discussed were as follows:
* Making voting compulsory for all the eligible voters
* One nation one voting
* Fixing up Education Qualification for the candidates
* Digitalisation of the voting process for NRIs, Migrant Workers, Students studying across the globe
* Linking Voter Card to AADHAR Card
* Restricting the candidates from contesting for the election as part Anti Defection Law
Dr. Rajendra K V, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District; Dr. Kumar, CEO, Dakshina Kannada, Zilla Panchayat; Mr. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South Assembly Constituency; Mr. Premananda Shetty, Mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation were present during the discussion.
