Inauguration: Multi-Disciplinary Conference on Engineering Science & Technology (MCEST-2022)

On 27th May 2022, Sahyadri in collaboration with ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Academy, organized an International Conference on 'Engineering Science & Technology' (MCEST-2022) on Blended Mode (both online and On-campus). The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. S. Basavarajappa, Registrar-IIT Dharwad. The guest, in his inaugural speech, encouraged the young minds to focus on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary actions for the common cause of society. He also expressed that research should be a means of enjoyment for individuals so that they can succeed in their life and reach greater heights. Dr. Manjappa S, Director-R&D and Consultancy, in his Presidential speech, remarked that Sahyadri has brought Scientists, Researchers and Industrialists into a single platform for the development of the society by resolving the issues faced, thus improving the education system. Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, motivated the participants to convert every idea into a product where every dream becomes a reality.
Dr. Shamanth Rai, Dean-Academics introduced the Chief Guest to the fellow researchers and attendees of the conference. Further Dr. Priya Kamath, the Convenor, briefed about MCEST-2022 and gave an overview of the Tracks in the conference - Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Electronic and Communication systems and Mechanical Engineering systems. She also highlighted the objective of the conference and said that that it was focused towards bringing the researchers together from across the globe and by providing a platform for discussions on various emerging areas in research and engineering technologies. After the inaugural, Dr. Ashok Rao, Former Head-Network Project, CEDIT, IISC, Bangalore, in his Keynote Address emphasized on understanding concepts of AI and Related ideas of ML (Machine Learning), DL (Deep Learning), Data Sciences (DS) and IoT (Internet of things) in context applications. He also mentioned of making AI Happen - Application of various aspects of AI and its Avatar's in different Domains.
HOD's of various departments, Teaching and Non-Teaching staffs, Conference Committee members and Researchers from across the countries were also the beneficiaries of the conference.
