Guest at the Campus: An Independent International Higher Education Consultant visits Sahyadri

Ms. Manjula Rao, an Independent International Higher Education Consultant visited Sahyadri on 9th June, 2022. On her visit, she met the representatives from NAIN Incubation Centre, Startups and the in-house industries. She visited the various innovative centres in the campus and appreciated the infrastructure created to meet the learning requirements of the student community. She applauded the efforts of Alumni of Sahyadri in creating the Start-up ecosystem contributing to the entrepreneurial mindset and employment opportunity for the students within the campus.
She addressed HODs and Senior faculty members of all the departments in the latter half of her visit. During the interaction, she emphasized on the changing landscape of the global education system. She spoke about hybrid learning models during the pandemic which created great learning opportunities for the students. She referred to Global Ranking of Education institutes where not many Indian Institutes are appearing in the Top 500 institutes and how focus on Outcome-based education along with research mindset as well as New Education Policy (NEP) will help us in reaching top ranks.
She has more than 3 decades of work experience in the field of Teaching, Research and Education Management. She has served as the Director-Higher Education for the British Council in India until January, 2020. She has served as an Education Consultant for many of the reputed institutes like IIT Gandhinagar, IISER Pune etc. She is an Academic Advisor for Kortext, a UK based learning content and student engagement platform, and serves on the Board of Karta Initiative India Foundation, a charity that promotes social mobility and education equity.
