Community Initiative: Civil Engineering students decorate the Nali-Kali classroom of Kumpala Govt School, Someshwara

Pre-final year students of Civil Engineering completed the painting of walls and rehabilitation of the Nali Kali classroom as a community service program under AICTE activity points work. The program was initiated by Ms. Shreelatha U A, Academic Administrative Officer with the support of Dr. Joyline Germine Dsa, Associate Professor & Associate Dean-Student Welfare and Mr. Naveen Pilar, Coordinator-Dept. of Art & Culture. Preliminary discussions were held on 7th June'2022 with Ms. Gulabi, HM, Kumpala Govt. School. Prof. Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B, Dept. of Civil Engineering was the co-ordinator of the program. The activity involved cleaning of Classroom, Painting the walls of the Nali Kali classroom, repairing windows, overall rehabilitation of the Nali Kali classroom and Warli painting for exterior walls. The activity was carried out during 12th June'2022 to 29th June'2022 for a period of 15 days. On completion of the activity, there was an interactive session for students of Nali Kali classroom wherein Ms. Shreelatha U A, and Dr. Joyline Germine Dsa addressed the students from 1st standard to 3rd standard. Also, Prof. Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B was felicitated by the staff of Kampala Govt. School. A total of 64 student volunteers from Civil Engg. participated in the activity.
