Bridge Course 2020 - A Succinct Overview

A 10-day long Bridge Course was held for Engineering Aspirants by TCE in collaboration with DTlabz at Sahyadri to give them a glimpse of their onward journey in engineering studies. The First Batch of aspirants had 69 students.
Bridge Course brings together students from varied domains and presents introductory concepts in an engaging manner by building projects like prototyping, coding and designing, making sure the students gain an array of 21st Century skills with a focus on creative & critical thinking and problem solving, kicking off their journeys as ‘to-be engineers’.
Activities like storyboard creation for the problem statements initiated team bonding and helped students break the ice as they got to know each other better.
During the first half of the course students were trained to use software like On-shape on which they went on to create 3-D Models of chassis for DreamKit bot and RC bot using Onshape software, followed by an introduction to MIT . The latter half of the course saw students putting their knowledge to test by assembling and coding their own RC and Line Follower bots, followed by insightful sessions on Communication which gave them great takeaways.
The most awaited moment arrived on the last day of Bridge Course, where the trainers put together a magnificent arena for the Mega Event. Each team competed with utmost attentiveness where their robots acted like good carriers, ensuring the obstacle - being corona infected bots - would not stall them.
Team Mind Benders and Team Delta basked in the victory after they beat all the remaining teams in the arena. Team Illuminati managed to secure runners up and the entire Auditorium roared with energy!
