Atmanirbhar Project (Make In India) @ Sahyadri – Air Vent Valve for T-90 Battle Tanks

The Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Caliper Engineering & Lab Pvt. Ltd, In-house Industry at Sahyadri are awarded with several Atmanirbhar (Make In India) projects.
In the journey to nation’s self-reliance, Sahyadri is leading the Dakshina Kannada Region by actively engaging with Defence and Nuclear sectors in many projects. Students of Mechanical Engineering at Sahyadri will have great time in being part of this epitome of learning and participating in the nation's prestigious projects.
Ordnance Factory Board, Chennai, country’s exclusive manufacturer of battle tanks awarded Sahyadri / Caliper with developing of ‘Air Vent Valve’ to be fitted in their T-90 Battle Tanks. The product is totally re-engineered, assembled and tested in Sahyadri. As many as 23 components are manufactured with stringent quality standards, which form part of the final product.
The objective of Air Vent Valve is to enable battle tanks to cold-start, when operated in extreme cold weather conditions. Function of Air Vent Valve is very critical for enabling timely protection of the country from enemies.
