Webinar on “Careers in Cyber Security organized by CoE in Digital Forensics Intelligence & Cyber Security through Cisco WebEx

On May 15th, 2021 Center of Excellence (CoE) in Digital Forensics Intelligence And Cyber Security in Association with Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) a program under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, supported by Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ministry of Education (MOE’s) Innovation cell and Institution Innovation Council chapter Sahyadri organized a Webinar on “Careers in Cyber Security” through Cisco WebEx platform.
The Resource person of the webinar was Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering. During the first half of the session, the speaker gave an introductory session on different types of Cyber Crime - Crypto Jacking, Blue Snarfing etc and the open source intelligence tools that help to extract the Metadata from the user system through Internet. In the second half of the session, the speaker briefed about Cyber Security and different domains to work under Cyber Security such as User Education, Threat Intelligence, Risk Assessment, Security Engineering, Governance, Career Development, Security Operations, Framework and Standards and Physical Security. The speaker at the end of session motivated the participants on importance of soft skills for Cyber Security professionals, career options in cyber security, Specialisation in cyber security and Certification courses in cyber security.
More than 300 participants were the beneficiaries of the session. Dr. Prabhu invited all the participants to the Centre of Excellence at Sahyadri in order to get Hands-on Experience on various tools and software’s available at the setup. Also, a Quiz link was sent to participants which earned certificates for the participants on successfully achieving the benchmarked score.
