Inauguration of Foundation Course for First Year Engineering Students

The foundation course for the first-year Engineering students, commenced on 6th Dec, 2021. The course was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Rajesha S. Vice Principal, Prof. S S Balakrishna; Prof. Prasahantha Rao, Head-Basic Science Dept.; Prof. Hemanth Prabhu, Head-Dept. of Civil Engineering and Prof. Deviprasad, Resource person presided over the inauguration program.
It’s a course presiding over a week’s time of duration wherein fundamental concepts of physics and mathematics shall be discussed. In the inaugural address, Prof. S. S. Balakrishna emphasized on the point that Engineers are the backbone of any civilization as it caters to all needs of society. Prof Prashantha Rao briefed on the application of this course and its long-term positive effects. Principal also added that there are ample opportunities at Sahyadri for skill development and he called upon the students to acquire the necessary skill-sets to be successful engineers. Prof. Soumyashree, Dept. of English was the moderator of the program.
