Sahyadri has a Lifetime Institutional Membership with National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter. As a result of this membership, students and faculty are exposed to power packed webinars, workshops, competitions and conferences related to HR domain. On 29th Jan’2022, a Webinar on “CSR – Policies, Process and Regulations” was organized by NIPM, Mangaluru/Manipal Chapter facilitated by Mr. Dharmaprasad Rai, Essilor Vision Foundation (Essilor india Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru). He is a Senior CSR and Developmental Sector Professional.
The webinar threw light on CSR from the practitioner’s perspective. He shared the differences among the concepts related to Charity, Philanthropy, Grant Making and CSR under the ACT. He emphasized that the CSR operates within the scope of 17 SDGs defined by UN. He also mentioned that organizations can carry out CSR only if they meet the eligibility criteria under CSR ACT 2013.
Mr. Dharmaprasad Rai concluded the session by sharing the Skills required for a CSR Leader and proclaimed that currently there are plenty of job opportunities for the position of CSR Leaders. Mr. Dheeraj Shetty, Chairperson-NIPM, Mangaluru Chapter, appreciated Sahyadri for joining the webinar in huge numbers.
