Faculty of Basic Science Publishes a Research Article in an International Journal

Dr. Navin N Bappalige, Associate Professor in the Dept. of Engineering Physics, co-authored the research article titled - ‘Energy Consumption Analysis and Evaluation of Communication Technologies in Wireless Sensor Networks’ published in the Scopus indexed international journal Design Engineering (Q4) - ISSN: 0011-9342. The paper highlights the wireless sensor networks (WSN) that can be used in agriculture to increase the crop yields and improve the quality of the agriculture output. The proposed system uses low-cost wireless technologies and it is based on technologies with economical resource requirements and consumes lower energy. The energy monitoring of wireless devices plays a crucial role in wireless communication.
