MBA students attend KCCI Interactive session with Commissioner, Mangalore City Corporation

Anirudh R, Vishnu Prasanna, Radhesh P S and Sharvari - students of first year MBA along with Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning and Prof. Suchitra, Dept. of Business Administration attended an Interactive Session with Shri. Akshy Sridhar, Commissioner, Mangalore City Corporation organized by Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).
The session began with the Commissioner explaining about the Governance of City Corporation and also the developmental activities taken up by them like Uninterrupted Power & Water Supply, Waste Management, Smart City Work, Elimination of Traffic Congestion, Online Payment of Taxes etc. Commissioner stated that they are coming up with an application to address grievances of citizens.
Later, the forum was open for questions by the audience. The citizens raised issues like:
1.No common helpline number which citizens can use to report their grievances
2.Increase in cess to collect the solid waste from the industries
3.Delay in Road construction in few prominent places
4.Footpaths encroached by street vendors
5.No daily pick up waste by Antony Waste Management
Anirudh, MBA student raised a question on Separate Track for Joggers and Cyclers in the city of Mangalore. The commissioner appreciated the concern raised and promised our students that on a pilot basis the corporation will start the initiation on the river banks of Netravathi and based on the feedback received they will extend the service to other parts of the city. Mr. Shashidhar Pai Maroor, President, KCCI and other office bearers were present for the session.
