Respectful tribute to the Father of Indian Constitution - Dr. B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the country's first law minister, Sahyadri hosted a talk on Constitution on 14th Apr, 2022. Principal Dr. Rajesha S, Dean and HOD's of all the departments, faculty and students participated in the session.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Mr. Nikhesh K Shetty, is an Advocate who completed LLB in SDM Law College, Mangaluru. He is a guest lecturer at a number of colleges. He is the Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, D.K District under Juvenile, and is now a member of the Dakshina Kannada, District Local Committee Constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act.
Mr. Nikhesh, in his talk, emphasized on the significance of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar's title. He also discussed the process of ratifying a constitution. He underlined the importance of nation-state sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said - "The shift is especially noticeable when it comes to applying the right to self-determination to Kashmir. After the country's constitution went into force on January 26, 1950, the country was able to break free from the monarchy and turn into a sovereign democratic republic. However, the three years of dominion status were vital in the eventual establishment of a democratic republic". He concluded his speech by explaining article 15 Right to Equality.
