Concluding Day: Multi-Disciplinary Conference on Engineering Science & Technology (MCEST-2022)

On 28th May, 2022, Special invited talks were held. The first session was on the Topic - 'Basics of Machine learning through CNN' facilitated by Dr. Deepu Vijaya Senan, Associate Professor, ECE Department, NITK Surathkal. He gave an overview on basics of Neural Network. He briefed on how convolution helps in extracting features from the input, concepts of pooling and data augmentation for CNN and also on the different types of CNN Network like Alexanet.
The second session was on 'Artificial Intelligence for signal processing and communication' facilitated by Dr. Prashanth Kumar H, Assistant Professor, ECE Department, NITK Surathkal. He emphasized on different types of signals used for communication and the receivers for 2G, 3G & Mobile phone networks. He also explained how AI can be incorporated in these devices.
The third session was by Prof. Nathi Ram Chauhan, Professor, and Head-Dept. of Mechanical & Automation Engineering, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) Delhi. In his talk for the second day of MCEST 2022, he emphasized on the role of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in the industry. He also explained about the Industrial Revolution, the concept of Robotics and AI, Collaborative Robots (Cobots), and the application of AI robots in different domains.
Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, in his concluding remarks, appreciated the organizing committee for the well-executed conference with more than 200 students and faculty benefiting from the conference organized through blended mode.
